Description

Manchester City Council aims to be in the top-flight of world-class cities, with a dynamic and thriving economy, a highly skilled population; well-connected, addressing climate change; and helping all to achieve their potential in our attractive and welcoming city. We are a city with a rich history, a vibrant present-day, and much to look forward to in the future.

Central to our success and our future plans is the development which is taking place in our city, and particularly our city centre. We have a number of nationally significant schemes including Victoria North (delivering15,000 new homes), the Oxford Road Corridor, and regeneration of St John’s. We are leading the creation of great places that bring people and communities together, attract investment and ensure that Manchester continues to thrive.

We are now seeking a Strategic Lead, to play a critical role in ensuring the future development across our city centre is delivered. Providing clear, strategic leadership and wider oversight across the breadth of the organisation you will commission, manage and deliver a varied portfolio of regeneration programmes. Working with external partners and businesses, your focus will be centred around a robust process of empowering and enabling the successful implementation and delivery of exciting programmes such as Piccadilly Gardens, and Culture in the City Levelling Up allocation.

You will have a strong background in programme managing complex property, regeneration and development projects. Holding a passion for our City, and a keen eye on the national agenda and Manchester’s place within it, you will bring your strong commercial acumen, risk mitigation and contractual management skills. Crucially, you will be a leader who is able to inspire and motivate multi-disciplinary professionals, partners and Elected Members, all in pursuit of making your mark on a vibrant internationally renowned City!
